Originally from coastal Oregon, Nathan received his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University in upstate New York, and now lives in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood with his wife and daughter.
Nathan’s experience ranges from small retail and art exhibits, to single family homes, to larger community centers and university buildings. Regardless of scale, Nathan is inspired by each project’s immediate context, and embraces approach, circulation, and materiality as critical elements in the experience of architecture. He is a licensed architect in Illinois as well as LEED accredited professional.
Nathan is a dedicated bike commuter, and has an ongoing collage project where he has fabricated hundreds of postcard-sized collages using paint and found material.
