Principal
Throughout his over decade long career with Northworks, Nate has designed a variety of projects nationwide. His experience includes historic preservation, retail design, private club design, and single-family residential homes. Nate values collaboration within each project he touches and takes time to guide clients throughout the process from project conception to completion. He does so with the intention of bringing a client’s dream design to life while personalizing details along the way.
Nate received his Master of Architecture from Tulane University and is a licensed architect in the state of Illinois. He is on the board of Directors & Executive Committee at the Friends of Historic Second Church, a preservation organization whose mission is to preserve the art and architecture of the National Landmark Second Presbyterian Church in Chicago’s South Loop. He is also a founding member and serves as co-chair of AIA Chicago’s Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN), the newest of AIA Chicago’s Knowledge Communities. He has often shared his architectural and preservation expertise by participating in panels, giving lectures, and writing articles about Chicago architecture and history through venues such as AIA Chicago, Second Presbyterian Church, the Vernacular Architecture Forum Conference, and the blog Chicago Modern: More than Mies.
Outside of his architectural pursuits, Nate enjoys hiking, traveling, exploring neighborhoods and spending time with family and friends.
I deeply believe in the collaborative process - with colleagues, clients, consultants, product reps and contractors. Good ideas come from all directions. I strive to guide and educate our client when helpful while remaining a tool to create the perfect environment for each project. At the end of the day, I hope our clients feel like their new space is deeply personal, tailored to their life and that they had a stake in the design.
